
Guide to Miami Seaquarium, South Florida attractions
Miami Seaquarium is one of the best attractions in the city for tourists and travellers and espcially for families. Miami Seaquarium can be found at the Rickenbacker Causeway in Miami and is located within the vicinity of Miami’s main tourist districts, near Miami Beach and the downtown area.
The animals at the Seaquarium
The Seaquarium is home to some of the most famous marine animal celebrities. Some of its more famous residents include Flipper, the famous dolphin from the popular television show, a killer whale named Lolita and a sea lion named Salty. Other animals that can be found in the Seaquarium include:
- Crocodiles
- Sharks.
- Turtles
- and non-marine animals including peacocks, mongoose and snakes.
The Seaquarium is home to a large variety of snakes like the red rat snake, the Florida Kingsnake, the Blackpine and also has an extensive reef aquarium complex and a shark
exhibit where many different species of sharks can be seen.
Aquarium Opening Times
Tourists can visit the Seaquarium any day of the week; gates open at 9:30 in the morning and close around 6 pm in the evening. It is advisable to enter the Seaquarium before 4:00 pm. in the afternoon since the ticket booths close at around 4:30 pm.
Live Performances
There are a number of live shows and animal performances that occur in the afternoon. The shows usually start at around 2:30 pm in the afternoon and tourists are advised to visit before the shows actually start. To get the most out of a trip to the Miami Seaquarium, it is recommended that visits last for a minimum of 4 or 5 hours.
